Inspired by visiting the Hand of Glory on Walker's first trip to England.

The Hand of Glory was an old folk custom whereby thieves would use a mummified hand to put people into a sleep while they robbed their houses. There were two ways of lighting the fingers, wax would be poured onto the end of their fingers before lighting, or they'd fit a candlestick between the thumb and forefinger. If the flame went out while they were breaking into a home, it meant the homeowner wasn't entirely asleep leading them to abandon their mission.

These hands were often made from the severed hands of felons.

The most consistent and well known of these abilities was that placing the hand outside or on the doorstep of a house would render all the occupants in such a deep sleep that the burglars movements could not wake them. This particular hand was found hidden in the wall of a cottage in England.
